Aahar Hotel Restaurant

Aahar is our little hotel and restaurant located at 284/1A Satin Sen Nagar in the New Barrack Pore area of Kolkata. We’ve been serving food and offering rooms here for a good while. The kitchen is the heart of the place, and it’s usually pretty loud with the sound of pans and people talking. We don't have a fancy menu with words you can't pronounce, just regular food that people in the neighborhood like to eat. The restaurant downstairs gets quite crowded during lunch and dinner times, especially on the weekends. Our rooms are upstairs and they are simple, meant for people who just need a place to sleep without paying for things they don't use. We do a lot of the cleaning and maintenance ourselves because hiring a big crew is too expensive. The building is an older one, so there is always a leak to fix or a wall that needs a bit of paint. Kolkata is a busy city and New Barrack Pore has its own hectic pace. We like being part of it. Most of our customers are regulars who live just a few streets away. We know how they like their meals and which table they prefer. It’s a lot of work running both a hotel and a kitchen, but it keeps us busy and pays the bills. We just take it one customer at a time.
