85 Lansdowne is actually located at 185, Garfa Main Road, and Tanusree Gupta is the one usually overseeing things here. Kolkata is a big city, but Garfa Main Road has its own specific feel. We work out of this space, which isn’t exactly on Lansdowne itself despite the name, but that’s just how it evolved over time. It’s a place where we handle a lot of different projects and tasks. The office is tucked away in a spot that feels more like a neighborhood than a commercial district. We like it that way because it’s a bit more relaxed. Inside, you’ll find us surrounded by samples and paperwork. It’s not a strictly formal environment. We talk to each other, drink a lot of tea, and try to keep up with the work coming in from across West Bengal. Sometimes the traffic on Garfa Main Road makes it hard for people to visit, but we usually manage. We don’t use a lot of big words to describe what we do. We just work on our designs and our business every day. It’s a bit messy sometimes, but that’s because we are actually doing things. We’ve been here for a while and the locals know us by now. It is just a small office where we get things done without making a scene. We focus on the craft and the daily tasks at hand.
