Vishalgad Farmers Producer Company Limited is situated at G.No.174/1 on Kaulane Road in Astane. We aren't in a big city center, but right out where the work happens. Astane is a place where farming is the main thing everyone does. We set this company up to help the local producers here get a better deal. It’s a practical setup. We have a small place on Kaulane Road where we keep our tools and our records. Most days, you’ll find one or two of us there, probably drinking tea and talking about the weather or the price of fertilizer. We don't use a lot of fancy technology, just the basics to keep track of what everyone is growing. The road out here can be a bit bumpy, but it’s how we get things to the market. We are all farmers ourselves, so we know the struggles of trying to make a profit. We started this because we thought it was better to work as a group than on our own. It’s not a polished business with a big website or anything. We just talk to people face-to-face. Sometimes we spend the whole day out in the fields and only come back to the office to lock up at night. We’re just trying to do right by the land and the people who live here in Astane. It’s not complicated, it’s just how we live and work.
