Udhyamshri Engineers

Our workshop is found at Plot No. 7 and 8 in the Khare Group Housing Project. We are on Old Damini Road in the Vishram Bagh neighborhood. Udhyamshri Engineers has been here for a good while. It’s a bit of a mixed area with some houses and other small workshops like ours. Because of that, we try to keep the noise down in the early mornings. The building is just a simple shed with a high roof. We have a lot of tools and machines spread across the floor. It looks a bit messy to an outsider but we know exactly where every wrench and bolt is kept. The office is just a tiny corner with a wooden desk and a couple of filing cabinets. We don't have a secretary or anyone to answer the phones, so if we're busy on the floor, the phone might ring for a bit. Vishram Bagh is a decent place to be based. There are a few shops nearby where we get our lunch. The road outside is narrow and can get blocked if two trucks try to pass each other. We spend our days mostly on our feet. It’s hard work and the floor gets cold in the winter. We don't have any fancy mission statements or corporate values posted on the walls. We just come in, do the work as best as we can, and head home when the sun goes down. It’s a simple, honest way to live.
