At Sheti Samruddhi Farmers Producer Companylimited, we operate out of Mangaon in the Shahuwadi Taluka. Our main spot is at Vilas Shripati Ghatage’s place. It’s right there in the heart of the village. We focus on what we know best, which is the land and the crops. Most of us have been working the soil since we were kids. This company was formed because we were tired of doing everything on our own and getting nowhere. Now we share the load. It’s a lot more manageable that way. Our office is just a part of the house where we’ve set up some desks and filing cabinets. It’s often noisy with the sounds of the village and kids playing nearby. We don’t mind it though. It reminds us why we are working so hard. We deal with all sorts of farming issues, from getting the right fertilizer to finding buyers who won't cheat us on the price. It’s a constant learning process. None of us went to business school, so we just figure things out as we go. Sometimes we make mistakes, but we fix them and keep moving forward. The air is fresh out here and the soil is good if you treat it right. We just want to see everyone in Mangaon doing a little better each year. It’s a slow process but we are patient people who understand how growth works and how nature takes its time. Every day is a bit different but we stay busy.
