Sadika Mahila Farmer Producer Company Limited

Sadika Mahila Farmer Producer Company Limited is a group of us women working together. We are based at Parisa Deu Kambale’s place, house number 1563, in Vasagade, Kolhapur. It’s a busy place most of the time. We handle a lot of different things related to our farms. Most of us have been farming all our lives. We decided to join up so we could have a bit more say in how things are sold and bought. It’s not a corporate office with desks and chairs everywhere. It’s more like a gathering place where we get the real work done. We talk about our crops and help each other out when someone is struggling with their plot. Kolhapur is a good place for this kind of work. The land is good, but the business side is hard for us. We are learning as we go. None of us were trained in business management, so we just use common sense and help from each other. We don’t use fancy language because that’s not how we talk at home. We just want to make sure our families are taken care of properly. It takes a lot of grit to keep this going every month. Some days we are very tired but we keep showing up. We share the workload and the worries. It feels better doing it together than alone. We are just local women trying to make things work.
