Our company, M/S Amala Engg Works Pvt Ltd, is based in Sangli. We are located in the Khan Bhag area inside the Laxmi Vishnu Apts. It might seem a bit strange to have an engineering firm in an apartment building, but unit 859 works well for us. We have all our benches and equipment set up to make the most of the floor space. It can get quite noisy when the machines are running, but the neighbors are used to the sounds by now. We don't spend any time worrying about office decor or fancy furniture. Most of the walls are covered in old calendars and technical drawings that we still refer to. There’s a small corner where we keep the kettle for tea, and it’s probably the most important spot in the shop. We don't have a receptionist or anyone to answer the phones with a script. If the phone rings, whoever isn't busy with a machine just picks it up. We’ve been in Sangli for a good while and people know what to expect from us. We don't see the need for big words or promotional talk. Engineering is simple: either things work or they don't. We make sure they work and leave it at that. Our building has a small garden that we rarely use, but it’s a nice view when we take a break. It's a quiet, practical life and it suits us just fine.
