Kuberlakshmi Farmer Producer Company Limited

Our place is in Kasaba Bavada, right across from Ganga Dairy. The address is 1339 E Ward. This part of Kolhapur is where we all grew up and started farming with our families. We formed Kuberlakshmi because we saw a need for us farmers to group together for once. It makes the business side of things a little more manageable when you aren't alone. We don't have a big fancy office; it’s just a room in Ulape Mala. Most of our work happens outside in the sun anyway. We are mostly concerned with how to get our produce to the market without too much trouble from middle men. It's a busy neighborhood and there's always something going on near the dairy. We spend our mornings checking on the crops and our afternoons dealing with the company stuff. It's a lot of responsibility to keep the records straight. We aren't trying to impress anyone with big words or marketing. We just know the soil and the seasons here. If you walk past the dairy, you'll find us. We often sit and talk about the prices of seeds or how the last harvest went. It’s just how we live. The 416006 area is full of people who work the land just like us. We are part of that community and we try to look out for each other. It’s not a glamorous job but it’s our life and we take it seriously.
