If you walk down toward Anandi Chambers in Shahupuri, you’ll find us at Plot No 397 in Block E. We are right across from Ram Sankul. It is mostly a work site here, not a place where people come to hang out. We make ice in big quantities. The machines are old and they make a lot of noise, but they do the job. You can hear the hum of the compressors from out on the street. Most of our day is spent moving heavy blocks or bags and loading up the trucks that wait outside. It gets wet on the floor, so we all wear rubber boots. It is cold inside, which is a nice break from the heat outside, but your hands get numb after a while. We don't have a fancy office or anything. Just a desk with some papers and a phone that rings more than it should. The neighbors at Ram Sankul probably know our schedule by the sound of the gates opening in the morning. We deal with a lot of different people, from small shop owners to big event organizers. It's hard work, and it's messy, but it is what we know. We have been in this part of Shahupuri for years. The traffic on the road can be a pain when we're trying to move the trucks, but we manage. It’s just how business is, day after day.
