Katdare Food Products Private Limited

Our place, Katdare Food Products Private Limited, is tucked away in the Additional M. I. D. C. area at J- 2/17. If you know how these industrial zones work, you’ll know it’s mostly just rows of similar-looking buildings and a lot of wide roads for the transport lorries. We have been in this spot for some time, handling all sorts of food items day in and day out. Inside, the floor is usually covered in some kind of fine powder or bits of packaging material that we sweep up at the end of the shift. It’s a big space but it feels small once you get all the equipment and the crates inside. We have a rhythm to the work, starting early before the sun gets too high and the metal roof starts heating everything up. There isn’t a lot of decoration on the walls, just some old calendars and safety notices that have been there forever. We talk about the weather or local news while we work on the packaging lines. Sometimes the machines act up and we have to spend half the morning fixing a belt or cleaning out a jam. It’s just the usual stuff you deal with in a production unit. We don’t have any fancy reception area for visitors, just the main gate where the goods go out. People know us by the smell of the food being processed, which carries quite a bit when the wind blows through the M. I. D. C. blocks.
