Ideal Agro Farmers Producer Company Limited is based in a small village called Faye, near Shengaon in the Bhudargad area. We use House No. 92 as our base of operations. Being out here in Kolhapur, we’re surrounded by hills and green fields, which is exactly where we like to be. This company started because a few of us were tired of getting the short end of the stick when it came to selling our produce. We figured if we joined up, we might have a better chance. We aren't businessmen in the usual sense. We’re farmers who had to learn how to run a company on the fly. It’s been a steep learning curve with plenty of mistakes along the way. We don't have a receptionist or a lobby. You just walk up to the house and someone will be there to talk to you. We deal with all sorts of things, from seeds to harvest logistics. It’s a lot of talking and planning over tea. We try to keep things simple and avoid all that corporate talk that doesn't mean much to us anyway. Life in the village is busy, especially when the seasons change. We just want to make sure that the people living here in Faye and the surrounding areas can keep their farms going without worrying so much about the money part of it.
