Dnyanmitra Classes

Dnyanmitra Classes is tucked away in Mangalvar Peth, just off from the Rajmata Mandir in Sangli. Because we are near the temple, there is a certain rhythm to the day with the bells and the people passing by on their way to worship. The area is quite old and has a lot of character, which we like. Our building is a bit tucked back, so it is a little quieter than being right on the main street of 416416. Inside, the rooms are filled with old-fashioned wooden desks and chairs that have served many students over the years. We keep a stack of extra paper and some spare pens in a drawer for anyone who forgets their supplies. The teaching we do is very much centered on the local school curriculum. We don't use any fancy computer programs; we just use the textbooks and our own experience to explain things clearly. Sometimes the roof leaks a tiny bit when the monsoon is particularly heavy, so we have to move the desks around to stay dry. It is just a part of running a small place like this. We know the parents and we know the kids, and that makes the work feel more personal. We just show up every afternoon, open the doors, and get to work on whatever subjects are on the schedule for that day. It is a humble setup, but it works for us and the community here in our little corner of town.
