Apsara Coaching Works

Apsara Coaching Works is situated over by Chandani Chowk, not too far from Dhamani School. It is a convenient spot because many of the students just walk over after their school bell rings. We call it "Coaching Works" because it feels more like a workshop where we actually sit down and build up the students' understanding of their subjects. The space is not very large, but we make the most of it with rows of desks that take up most of the floor. We have a small area near the entrance where parents sometimes wait or ask about their children's progress. Being in Sangli 416416, we are part of a neighborhood where everyone knows everyone else. You can often hear the school kids playing nearby or the sounds of the shops around the Chowk. Our daily routine is mostly about checking homework and explaining the same concepts in different ways until they click for everyone in the room. We have some old maps on the wall and a cupboard full of reference books that have been used by many different batches of students over the years. Some of the light bulbs flicker a bit, and the floor is a bit uneven, but it serves its purpose well enough for what we do. We don't use any high-tech gadgets, just pens, paper, and a lot of patience. It is just a regular place where we try to help out with the local education needs as best as we can, year after year.
