Digitech Industries

Digitech Industries is tucked away at 1217 D Ward, in Umraokar Galli, right in the Uttreshwar Peth area. It’s a bit of a squeeze getting to us through the narrow lanes, but we’ve been here for quite some time. The workshop is usually full of the sound of tools and the smell of metal. We do a lot of technical work here, mostly custom stuff that requires a bit of thinking and tinkering. It’s not the kind of place where everything is automated. We do a lot by hand. Kishor Anandrao Shiralkar is the name on the papers, but we’re just a small group of people working together. The space is pretty cramped with all the equipment we’ve gathered over the years. We have drawers full of bolts and parts that I’m sure we’ll use someday. Sometimes we have to move three things just to get to one tool. It’s not the most efficient way to work, but it’s how we’ve always done it. Customers usually find us because a friend told them we could fix something or make a part they couldn't find elsewhere. We don't do any real advertising. We just open up early and stay until the job is done. It’s honest work and it keeps our brains sharp. We like being in this part of town, even with the traffic in the gallis. It's just home for us.
