We are based in Porle, which is a small place in the Panhala area of Kolhapur. Our company, Csc Kolhapur Mh Farmers Producer Company Limited, operates right out of House No. 68. It’s not some big building with a sign. Most of us around here are just farmers who have known each other for years. We decided to get together because trying to sell our stuff alone was just getting too hard. The rains in Kolhapur can be really heavy, and sometimes the roads are a mess, making it tough to get things to the market. We spend a lot of our time sitting at the house just talking about what to do next. It's not always organized. Sometimes we all talk at once and nothing gets decided. But we figured that having an official name on paper would help us when we need to deal with the government or buy things in bulk. We don't have any fancy office workers. One of us handles the books and the rest of us are out in the fields most of the day. It’s a quiet life in Porle. We don’t have any big plans to become famous. We just want to make sure the work we do in the soil actually brings some money home. Some days the crops look great and other days the bugs get to them. That’s just how it is. We keep going because we have to. It's just local people trying to help each other out.
