Ambeohal Farmers Producer Company Limited is based out of the place belonging to Shirishaku Deshamane. Ajara is a nice part of Kolhapur, but farming here has its own set of problems that people from the city wouldn't understand. We started this company because we were tired of being at the mercy of buyers who didn't know how much sweat goes into the soil. We are just local people who know these hills and fields very well. We don't have a big marketing team or a polished way of speaking to people. We just talk like we do over tea in the bazaar. Some days we are busy sorting out heavy bags of grain, and other days we are just complaining about the rising cost of fuel. Being in Tal Ajara means we are a bit far from the big supply centers, so we have to rely on each other quite a bit. This company is our way of making sure that the farmers in our neighborhood get a decent shake when it comes to selling. We handle whatever crops are currently in season. It is not always smooth sailing here. Sometimes the ledger books don't balance right away and we have to sit late into the evening to fix them. But that is just how it goes when you are running a business with your neighbors and friends.
