Todwal Marble Pvt. Ltd. sits right in the middle of the third phase of the industrial area in Madanganj. If you know the F-191 192 plots, that’s where you’ll find us. We spend most of our time moving heavy slabs around. Marble is heavy and it can be dangerous if you aren’t paying attention. The guys here wear their boots and just get to it. It’s loud because of the saws cutting through the stone all day long. Water runs across the floor to keep the blades cool, so it stays a bit damp in the shed. We’ve been at this spot for a good while. Madanganj is a big hub for stone, so there is always traffic and trucks blocking the narrow roads. We don't have a fancy showroom with lights. It’s mostly just the raw blocks and the cut pieces leaning against the walls. My father started things out and now we just keep it moving. Sometimes the weather makes it hard to work outside, but we manage. We aren’t trying to be anything big or flashy. Just a place where stone gets cut and loaded. It’s a lot of manual labor and making sure the measurements are mostly right. We stay busy with the local builders and anyone else who needs a few slabs. Sometimes we have to wait for the stone to arrive from the quarries, which gives us a chance to clean up the yard a bit. It’s never really clean, though. The dust just finds its way back into every corner.
