Khandelwal Marbles

Kishangarh is a place built on marble, and we are right in the thick of it at the Riico Industrial Area. Our plots, F-334 to 336, are usually covered in white dust from the cutting. That’s just the way it is on Tunkra Road. If you aren't covered in dust by noon, you probably haven't been working. We've got the big saws running most of the time. The sound is something you get used to after a few weeks. Khandelwal Marbles has been around for a bit, and we’ve seen the industrial area grow and change. It used to be just a few of us out here, but now it's a massive hub. We handle a lot of different stones that come in from the nearby mines. Every block is different, and you never really know what’s inside until you start slicing it open. That’s the interesting part of the job, I guess. We spend our time managing the labor, making sure the machines are greased, and talking to the traders who come from all over India. It’s a busy life. We don't have time for fancy office chairs or air conditioning in the yard. We just stay out there with the stone. Sometimes the heat is unbearable, but the work has to get done. It’s a tough business, but it’s what we know. We just focus on the slabs and getting them loaded onto the trucks without any chips before they head out to the customers.
