Kshitij Marble And Granites

Down here at B No. B-5 on Harmara Road, things are pretty straightforward. Kshitij Marble And Granites isn't a huge place with a lot of noise, but we keep ourselves busy enough. Madanganj is the kind of place where everyone knows someone in the stone trade. We have various stacks of marble and granite piled up in the back. Some days are slow, while other days we have three trucks waiting at the gate. It gets noisy with the saws going, but that's just how a stone yard sounds. I usually spend my time walking around the slabs, checking for cracks or checking the polish. It’s hard work, especially when the wind blows that fine sand around. We try to keep the place neat, but when you are moving tons of rock, there’s always going to be a bit of a mess. Neighbors stop by sometimes just to chat or ask about prices for a small renovation. We don’t go in for big advertisements or anything like that. People mostly find us because they are driving down the road and see the blocks sitting outside. It’s a practical way to live. We deal with the suppliers, handle the unloading, and make sure the measurements are right when someone buys a lot. It’s just us here, working through the heat and making sure the customers get what they actually saw in the yard. We usually close up when the sun goes down and start again the next morning.
