Suhem Marbles Pvt. Ltd. is located over in the fourth phase of the industrial area here in Madanganj. Specifically, we are at plot E-200. This part of town is dedicated entirely to stone, so you can imagine the noise levels during the day. We have been operating here for a few years. It’s a practical setup. We have the space for the blocks to sit while they wait for the saws. Cutting marble takes time and a lot of water. The floor is usually a bit messy with slurry, but that is just part of the job. We don’t really have a big team, just a handful of us who know the routine. We show up early, check the machines, and start the day. Most of our work comes from people who know us through word of mouth. We don’t use any complicated systems to track things; a simple notebook usually does the trick for us. When a truck arrives to pick up an order, everyone chips in to get it loaded safely. It’s a physical job and you go home tired every evening. The air is thick with the smell of wet stone and the sound of the saws never really stops until it gets dark. We like being in the fourth phase because it’s a bit further out from the main town center, but we are still right in the thick of the marble trade. It’s been our home for a while now and we don’t see that changing anytime soon.
