Shree Mahaveer Marbles

Our business, Shree Mahaveer Marbles, is located at F-299-300 on Paryavaran Marg. That’s in the IV Phase area of Madanganj. It’s a wide road, which is good for the big lorries that have to come in and out all day. We have a fair amount of space here, but it always seems to fill up fast with new stock from the quarries. We spend a lot of time organizing the slabs so people can actually see the patterns without tripping over things. Marble is heavy and can be fragile if you aren't careful, so we spend a lot of time just moving things very slowly. We’ve been in Madanganj for years now. We know most of the other traders around here. It's a competitive place, but we just focus on what's in our own yard. Sometimes we get pieces that have really interesting colors or unique veins, and those are the ones we like to show off to visitors. We aren't big on talking ourselves up. We just show what we have in the stacks and let the person decide for themselves. The tea guy comes around twice a day, and that’s usually when we take a short break. Otherwise, it’s just work. The sun can be brutal out here in the open yard, but the stone stays cool to the touch. It’s a simple life. We open up early and stay until the work is finished.
