Shobhna Marble

Our shop, Shobhna Marble, is located on Paryavaran Marg in Madanganj. We are at No. E-67, right near the Ravinder Rangmanch. Having the theatre nearby means there are always people around, and the street stays fairly busy. Madanganj is a hub for marble and stone, so we are surrounded by other folks doing the same kind of thing. Our place is a mix of an indoor storage area and a small front where we talk to customers. We have slabs of marble leaning against the walls, and you have to be careful walking through because the aisles can be a bit narrow. The floors are usually white with marble dust no matter how much we sweep. We don't put on any acts here; we just show the stone as it is. Some of the pieces have nice patterns and colors, and we spend time explaining where they came from if someone asks. It is mostly just family here where we sit and have tea while discussing the day's tasks. We have been on Paryavaran Marg for quite a while, and we’ve seen the neighborhood change as more shops opened up. It is a noisy, dusty, and busy way to make a living, but we are used to the rhythm of the road and the sound of the stone being moved. We just do our work and go home when the sun finally sets.
