Seema Marbles

Our place, Seema Marbles, sits out on Tunkra Road within the Riico Industrial Area of Madanganj. Being in the industrial zone means it’s always loud with the sound of machinery and trucks passing by. We deal with marble day in and day out. The yard is usually covered in a thin layer of white dust, which is just part of the life when you’re working with stone. We have rows of slabs sitting out in the open. People come out here from the main part of Madanganj because they know the industrial area is where the real work happens. It’s not a fancy place to visit, but we have the stock right there for anyone to look at. We spend a lot of time talking to contractors and guys who are doing up their bathrooms or kitchens. Sometimes the weather makes things tough, like when it rains and the yard gets muddy, but we keep moving the stones regardless. We don't have a big sales team or anything like that. Usually, it’s just one of us meeting you at the gate and walking you through the stacks. We show the natural colors of the stone, and if someone likes a particular vein or pattern, we mark it for them. It’s basic, hard work, and we’ve been doing it this way for a long time now on Tunkra Road. There is always something to lift or move, and that keeps us busy enough throughout the week.
