Sancheti Marble

Down here in the village of Dilwara, right by Madanganj, the whole area revolves around the stone industry. Our spot is in the Riico Industrial Area, which is where we have been for a long time. At Sancheti Marble, we deal with the reality of heavy stone and long hours every single day. The sun in Ajmer can be really harsh, and when it reflects off the white marble in the yard, it gets incredibly bright. We spend most of our time outside, checking the blocks that come in and making sure the slabs are cut to the right thickness. It is a very physical job, and we are usually covered in grit by the time the day ends. We don't have a fancy lobby with chairs; most people just meet us by the sheds or where the trucks are being loaded. The machinery is loud, so we have developed a way of communicating with hand signals and shouting. It is just how things go here. We know the local stone well and we know what people are looking for when they make the trip out to Dilwara. We don't try to dress things up or act like we are a big corporation. We are just a local business with a yard full of stone, trying to keep things going and providing what they need without any extra fuss.
