Our yard is in the Ricco Industrial Area, specifically over in the 5th phase. If you’ve ever been to an industrial area like this one, you know it’s mostly just dust and heavy trucks moving around. We supply marble to whoever needs it for their local building projects. We spend most of our time out in the sun moving heavy slabs around. It’s hard work and you have to be very careful not to chip the edges of the stone. We have piles of different stones stacked up all over the place. Sometimes it's hard to find a specific piece if we haven't stayed on top of the organizing every day. We use a basic crane to lift the bigger pieces onto the trucks when they arrive. The noise from the other factories nearby is constant, but you stop noticing it after a while. We don't have a polished showroom with bright lights or air conditioning. It’s just the open yard and a small office where we keep the books and invoices. People come by, look through the stacks, and pick what they like for their homes. We try to be helpful, but we’re usually busy with a delivery or unloading a new shipment. The 5th phase is a bit out of the way, but the space is good for keeping a large inventory. Everything always looks a bit grey from the dust until you wash the stone down. It's just a regular yard doing honest work for the builders around here.
