S. M. S. Marbles

S. M. S. Marbles is situated at F-89-90 in the fourth phase of the industrial area on Paryavaran Marg. Being this close to the Ajmer district border means we get a lot of traffic passing through. Our yard is pretty big because we took two plots next to each other. You'll see the stone stacked high from the road. It’s a busy spot, and there’s always a layer of white dust on everything, including our shoes. We started this because there was plenty of space out here to keep inventory. My brother and I handle most of the day-to-day things. We don't have a website or anything like that. If someone wants stone, they usually just drive down and walk through the aisles of slabs. It takes time to look at every piece, but that’s the only way to pick marble. We have a small shed where we keep the paperwork and a few chairs. Sometimes the power goes out in this part of Madanganj, but we can still work by daylight. We’ve seen the area grow a lot since we first set up here. There are so many marble shops now, it’s hard to keep track. We just focus on our own piles and make sure the loading goes smoothly for the trucks. It’s a long day, starting early and finishing when the sun goes down. We just keep at it.
