Ranka Marbles

We have been at Plot No.G-64 in the Old Industrial Area for a good while now. It is a busy spot, really. Most mornings start early with the sound of the big metal gates sliding open and the first truck pulling in from the road. The air here is always a bit white with stone dust, which is just how things go when you work with marble every single day. We keep a decent stack of slabs out in the yard. Some are rough and straight from the quarry, while others are polished up so you can see the shine. People come by to look at what we have sitting on the racks. It is not a fancy showroom or anything like that, just a regular workspace where we move heavy stone around. Sometimes the sun gets really hot on the plot, so we try to get the heavy lifting done before noon if we can. My crew knows the material well. They can tell a lot about a piece just by running a hand over the cold stone. We don’t do much fancy talking or sales pitches here. If someone needs stone for a floor or a kitchen, they look at the stock, we talk about the price, and then we figure out how to get it on a truck. It is a straightforward way to make a living. The area has changed some over the years, but our spot at G-64 stays pretty much the same. We just keep focus on the inventory and making sure the slabs don't crack when we load them up.
