Ramu Marble

If you head down to the Ricco Industrial Area in Madanganj, you will find us at E-4. We are right in the thick of the Ajmer marble scene. It is a dusty part of India, but that is where the best stone moves through. Our setup is pretty simple. We have a large open area where the slabs are lined up in rows. Most of the day is spent checking the stock or talking to the drivers who bring in new material. We have been at this address for years and seen the area grow up around us. There are always people coming in from different parts of the country looking for specific types of marble. We don't use much technology here, mostly just pens, paper, and the strength of the guys working the yard. The stone is heavy, and moving it takes a lot of care. You have to respect the material or it will break. We have seen all kinds of weather here, from the pouring rains that turn the yard to mud to the dry heat that makes the stone too hot to touch. We just keep going through it all. It is a local business, run by local people who understand how this trade works. We don’t have a lot of time for fancy talk. We just show what we have in the warehouse and let the stone speak for itself. It’s a solid way to spend the day for us workers. We just do the work.
