Raman Marbles

Raman Marbles is right here on Makrana Road. If you know this area, you know how busy it gets with all the trucks and the dust from the stones. We spend most of our days out in the yard looking at slabs and talking to people who come by. It’s not a fancy office or anything like that. We just have the stones lined up and a small place to sit and have tea. Usually, it’s quite hot during the middle of the day, so we try to get the heavy loading done early in the morning when the air is still a bit cool. People come looking for all sorts of marble. Some want something white and some want patterns they saw somewhere else. We just show them what we have on the ground. It’s hard work because these things are heavy and you have to be careful not to chip the edges. My clothes are usually covered in a bit of white powder by the time I go home. That is just how it is when you work with marble every day. We don’t do much advertising. People mostly just see our sign or hear about us from a neighbor who bought something last year. It’s a simple way to run things. We keep the gates open, watch the traffic go by on Makrana Road, and wait for the next truck to arrive with a new load.
