Pankaj Marble

We have been operating Pankaj Marble for some time now in the IIIrd Phase of the Riico Industrial Area. It’s a bit of a maze back here in Madanganj, but we are right where the action is. Most mornings start with a lot of noise as the cutters start up. I usually get to the yard early to see what arrived on the trucks overnight. The ground is always covered in slurry and stone chips, so you have to watch your step. We don't really do much advertising, people just find us because they know this part of the industrial area well. I spend most of my time standing near the gate or sitting in the shade when it gets too hot. Dealing with marble is heavy work, and it takes its toll on the equipment. Sometimes a machine breaks down and we spend the whole afternoon trying to fix it so we don't fall behind. It’s just me and a couple of guys working the yard. We have all kinds of slabs leaning against the walls, some have been there a week and some just got here. You see a lot of different people coming through, mostly contractors looking for a price or homeowners who aren't quite sure what they want yet. I just show them what we have and let the stone speak for itself. It’s a simple way to make a living, even if it’s messy and loud most days.
