Pallavi Marble

Working here at Pallavi Marble on Makrana Road, things stay pretty busy. We are right in the Madanganj Ricco Industrial Area, which is always loud with trucks and cutters going all day long. My family has been around this area for a while now. Most days I’m just out back checking on the stock or talking to the drivers who come in from the quarries. It gets very dusty around here, you can’t really help it when you're dealing with stone all day. People usually stop by when they’re driving down the main road looking for something specific for their floors. We don't have a fancy office or anything like that, just a small desk and some chairs where we sit and drink tea while we wait for the next load to arrive. Sometimes the sun is really hot on the yard, but we keep moving the slabs around so people can see the patterns. It's just honest work. We spend a lot of time cleaning up the scraps and making sure the driveway is clear for the big trailers. Usually, the phone rings and it’s someone asking if we have white marble or some granite in today. I just tell them what’s sitting on the lot right now. It's not a complicated life, just handling stones and making sure everything is where it should be when the sun goes down. My hands are usually covered in white dust by noon, and that’s just how it goes in this trade.
