Our place is on Harmara Road, inside the Riico Industrial Area, right where the Marble Mandi starts to get busy. Being on Harmara Road means there is a lot of noise and a lot of people moving around, but we wouldn’t have it any other way. It is the best place to be if you want to stay on top of what’s happening in the local market. We have been here for a good while, and the yard is always stacked high with marble from the nearby quarries. It’s a lot of physical work, especially when the weather gets hot in the afternoon. We usually start quite early to beat the heat of the day. There’s no big marketing team here, just a few of us who know the stones well and can tell you where a particular slab came from just by looking at the pattern. We spend most of our time organizing the stock so that when someone comes looking for a specific type of marble, we can find it without too much trouble. Sometimes the trucks are late or the weather doesn't cooperate, but that’s just part of the job we do. We keep a simple routine and try to treat everyone who walks in with a bit of common sense. Our office is just a plain room where we handle the bills and chat with the drivers after a long haul. It’s a honest living, and we are proud to be part of the stone community here.
