Morwal Marbles

Morwal Marbles has been sitting at G-75 in the Old Industrial Area of Madanganj for many years. This part of town has a certain smell of wet stone and old machinery that never really goes away. We aren't in one of those shiny new zones, but the location works for what we do. The walls of our shed are stained with marble dust, which is pretty normal for this line of work. Most of our day is spent looking at grain patterns and measuring thicknesses. It is funny how you can look at a thousand slabs and each one has a slightly different look to it. We don’t have a big team, just enough people to keep the saws running and the forklift moving. Sometimes the weather makes things hard, like when the rain turns the dust into mud, but we keep going anyway. Local builders know where we are, so they often send their trucks over when they need a batch for a new project. We don't have a receptionist or anything like that. Usually, you just walk in and find one of us near the back of the yard. We talk about the stone, check the price, and figure out how to get it to the site. It’s a simple way of doing things, but it has worked for us for a long time. The tea stalls nearby are where we spend our breaks, talking about the market and the weather.
