Mateshwari Sangmarmar

Our business is set up in the Purana Area of Ajmer district. It’s an older part of the region where things move at a bit of a slower pace compared to the main city center. We focus on sangmarmar, which is what most people around here call marble. Having been here for a long time, most of the local contractors know our face when they walk in. Our yard is filled with different cuts of stone that we’ve brought in from the quarries over the years. This is a dusty job, and there’s always the sound of water and saws in the background as we work. You won't find a website or anything like that for us; people usually just hear about the yard from their neighbors or friends. Most days are spent measuring slabs and helping people load their trucks manually. The weather in Ajmer can be tough, especially in the summer heat, so the heavy lifting happens in the early hours before it gets bad. Our setup is just a basic stone yard with a small shed for an office. We don't use any fancy language to describe what we do here. Selling marble and making sure there is enough for whoever walks through the gate is what we do. It's a plain business, but it's kept us going and we're happy with that. We just show up and do the work every day.
