Rms Stonex

Out here in RIICO Industrial Area Phase 1, things move pretty fast. Our place, Rms Stonex, sits at A 56 and it’s usually easy to find because of the rows of marble stacked up outside. The area is mostly other factories and warehouses, so there’s always a lot of noise from trucks and heavy equipment moving around. We spend a lot of time checking the slabs as they come off the transport. Marble is heavy and you have to be careful with it, so we use the overhead cranes a lot. The warehouse is a big space with high ceilings, which helps a bit with the heat during the summer months. It’s mostly just a routine of unloading, sorting, and then showing people what’s available. Sometimes we have to move twenty slabs just to get to the one at the back that someone wants to see. It’s part of the job. Most of the staff have been here for years, so we all know how the yard works. We eat lunch together in the small room near the back gate. It’s not a polished corporate place, just a working stone yard where things are constantly being shifted around. You’ll find some mud on the floor if it rained recently, and there’s always a bit of stone grit in the air. It’s how things are done in this part of town, and we don't change much.
