Bhutra Marble & Granites

You’ll find Bhutra Marble & Granites just ahead of the NRL Petrol Pump in the industrial area on Makrana Road. It’s a busy stretch of the road with a lot of heavy trucks passing by. We’ve got a large open space here to keep both our marble and granite slabs. Granite is much heavier and tougher to cut than the marble is, so we have to use different tools for that. The yard is always a bit chaotic with slabs leaning against each other in rows. We try to keep them organized by color and type, but it’s a constant struggle to keep it neat. Customers come in and we walk through the long rows together. It takes a while to see everything we have. We usually have a small radio playing in the background while the guys are working. There’s a lot of water used in the stone cutting process to keep the blades cool and the dust down. It makes the ground quite muddy, so we all wear sturdy rubber boots. We aren't big on job titles here. Everyone does a bit of everything, whether it's talking to a customer or helping guide a big truck into the loading bay. The office is just a simple room with a fan and some old ledgers. We don't spend much time inside anyway. It's better to be out where the stone is. It is hard work, but we like it.
