You can find Mahaveer Stonex right by the Jaipur Bypass near the Harmada Chauraya. We’re also close to the Jain Road Nale, which is a landmark most locals know. It’s a busy intersection, so there is always noise from the trucks and buses going by. We started this because we wanted to work for ourselves in the stone trade. The shop isn't anything special to look at, just a lot of stone and a place to sit out of the sun. We spend a lot of time checking the quality of the blocks that come in. Sometimes the colors aren't exactly what we expected, but we find a use for everything. People from around Madanganj stop in when they are working on their houses. We don't do much talking; we just show the slabs and let the stone speak for itself. It’s a physical job, hauling things around and making sure nothing breaks. The guys working here have been around stone their whole lives. We drink a lot of tea and wait for the next delivery to arrive. It gets dusty and hot, especially during the summer months near the bypass. We don't have a website or anything like that, just our spot here near the road. We’ve been here a while and plan to stay as long as people still need stone for their floors and walls. We just take it one day at a time.
