Lalit Marbles

You can find us at Lalit Marbles on the Makrana Road over in Borawar. It’s a bit of a drive depending on where you are coming from, but we like it here. It’s a bit quieter than some other parts of the industrial zone, though it still gets plenty of traffic from the marble trucks. We spend our days mostly looking at slabs and moving them with the crane. It is tough work because marble is heavy and you have to be careful not to crack the corners. We aren't big on talking ourselves up. We just have a yard full of stone and we try to keep it organized so people can actually see what they are buying. There’s a lot of history with stone in Borawar, and we are just one small part of it. Most of the guys working here have been doing this since they were young. We know how the stone feels and how it should look when it’s cut right. It’s not a clean job; your shoes are always white with marble dust by the end of the day. But it feels good to see a nice piece of stone go off to a new home. We don’t have a website or anything like that. People just show up or call us on the phone. We’re usually around from morning until the sun goes down, just doing the same work we’ve done for years.
