Keshu Stonex

Keshu Stonex is right at the Makrana Road Chouraha. Being opposite the Maruti Dharamkata means we see a lot of heavy vehicles and activity all day long. The intersection is always buzzing with traffic. We have our stone blocks stacked up where they can be seen from the road. It gets quite hot out here in the sun, especially during the summer months. We have a small shaded area where we keep the records and take a break. The noise from the road is constant, but you get used to it after a few days. We watch the trucks go over to the dharamkata to get weighed before they head out. It is a practical location for what we do. Inside our space, things are kept simple. We don't have any fancy decorations or expensive furniture. There are just tools, stones, and some old ledgers. Sometimes the wind blows the dust from the road right into the office. We just sweep it out and keep going. Customers pull over right at the chouraha and walk in to see what kind of stone we have ready. We talk to them about the different lots and how much is left in stock. It is a very hands-on job. We are usually busy loading or unloading, so our clothes stay a bit dirty. That is just life at the Makrana Road crossing.
