Out here in the Riico Industrial Area in Madanganj, the heat can be something else. We are located at F-183 in Phase 3, and it’s a pretty standard industrial plot. We have lots of stone stacked up everywhere. Some of it is marble, some is granite. It’s a lot of heavy lifting and moving things with the forklift. The ground is mostly gravel and stone dust, so your shoes never stay clean for long. We’ve been operating out of Ajmer for quite some time now. The morning starts early before the sun gets too high, and we try to get the heavy loading done then. There’s always a truck backing in or pulling out. It’s not a fancy place with a showroom; it’s more of a working yard where things happen. We talk to the drivers, check the slabs for cracks, and try to keep everything moving. Sometimes the power cuts out and the machines go quiet, which is a nice break from the noise, though it slows us down. We know the other folks in Phase 3 pretty well. We see them at the local tea stall or when they walk past our gate. It’s just honest work in a dusty part of town. We don’t have much in the way of decoration, just the stones themselves. They are what matters at the end of the day. We stay busy enough. There is always more stone to sort and move before we go home.
