K. Bhartiya Marbles

Our place is located right on the Jaipur Bypass in Madanganj. If you are familiar with the area, you know how busy it gets with all the traffic and big rigs heading towards the city. We are situated near the spot people call Marble Marble, so the whole road is basically lined with different stone yards and piles of slabs. We have been sitting in this exact spot for a long time. The yard is always filled with various types of marble, some from the local quarries and some that come from further away. It gets quite dusty with the wind blowing off the bypass all day, but that is just a part of the daily job. We usually open the gates early in the morning and stay until the sun goes down. Most of our time is spent showing people the different patterns and colors in the stone. No two pieces are ever the same, which is what makes it interesting to look at every day. We do not have a big fancy office or anything like that. We just have a small desk where we keep our logbooks and a couple of plastic chairs for anyone who stops by. Sometimes the kids come by after their school is over and hang around the yard while we work. It is a family thing, really. We know most of the other guys working on this stretch of the road. We just sell marble and keep things moving.
