You can find us over in Tilak Nagar, Kishangarh, right along the Harmada Road. It’s a busy stretch of road and there is always a lot of traffic, mostly big lorries carrying blocks of stone. Our place, Marble Granite Store India, isn’t hard to spot if you’re looking for it. We have different sections for the granite and the marble slabs. Some days it’s just me and a couple of guys working the yard, trying to keep the dust down by spraying some water. It’s a constant battle with the heat here. People come in with sketches of their kitchens or bathrooms, and we try to match what they have in mind with what we actually have on the ground. It’s not always a perfect match, but we show them the variations in the stone because that’s just how nature works. We don't use any high-tech systems. We just write things down in a ledger and keep track of the stock as it goes out. Kishangarh is a hub for this stuff, so there’s a lot of competition around us. We just focus on our own yard and the people who walk in. Sometimes we sit out front in the shade when it’s quiet. It’s a straightforward business. We buy, we store, and we sell. There’s no secret to it, just a lot of heavy lifting and patience with the weather. It is just the daily routine for us on Harmada Road.
