Devki Marble

Devki Marble is situated on Tunkra Road in the town of Madanganj. We are not very far from the main Marble Mandi, which is the heart of the stone trade here. The road outside usually stays pretty dusty because of all the tractors and trucks moving stone back and forth all day long. Our yard is where we spend almost all of our time. We built a small shed for ourselves for when the rain starts or when the afternoon sun gets to be too much to handle. We usually keep a mix of different types of marbles that we source from the local area quarries. It is not a massive operation, just a few of us making sure the slabs are moved safely and nothing gets broken. People come by Tunkra Road when they are looking for specific colors or patterns for their projects. We just walk them through the yard and show them what we have in the stacks at that moment. Sometimes our stock gets a bit low and we have to wait a few days for the next delivery to arrive from the cutters. We don’t use any marketing tricks or big advertisements. We just show the product and talk about the price. I have been working in this yard since I was much younger. It is a family-run thing and we know all the local people. It's just a regular yard.
