Chetna Marbles

Chetna Marbles is located on the main Makrana Road in the RIICO industrial area of Madangunj. It’s a busy part of town where you see trucks carrying stone all day long. I spend most of my time here at the site, checking on the slabs and talking to the guys who help move things around. We don’t have much in the way of a fancy office, just a small place to sit and some tea when it’s cold out. The marble business is pretty straightforward if you think about it. You get the blocks, you cut them, and then you wait for someone who needs them for their floor or walls. We get people coming from all over the place because this road is famous for stone. Sometimes the dust gets to be a lot, but you get used to it after a few years. My family has been around this area for a while, so we know most of the neighbors in the industrial park. It’s a hard way to make a living sometimes, especially when the market is slow, but we just keep the yard open and see what happens. We aren't doing anything revolutionary here. We just have some good stone and we’re here most days if anyone needs to look at it. Usually, you can find me near the back where we keep the larger pieces. That’s just how we do things in the yard.
