Basant Marbles

Basant Marbles is located on Makrana Road in Madanganj, right near the RK Marble area. Being close to such a big name means there are always people around. Our yard is a bit more modest. We focus on having a good selection of slabs that people can actually afford. We don't do much in the way of advertising. Most of our work comes from people just driving by and seeing something they like in the stacks. The sun shines really bright on the white stone here, so you almost need sunglasses just to look at the inventory in the afternoon. We have a few guys who help with the polishing and the moving. It’s a lot of physical labor. We try to keep the place tidy, but with all the stone cutting going on nearby, it’s a constant battle against the white powder. We don't have a fancy website or a big marketing budget. We just talk to the people who walk through our gates. Sometimes they are architects, and sometimes they are just people building their first home. We show them what we have and explain the differences between the blocks. It is a very practical business. We’ve been here long enough to know most of the other yard owners. It’s a tight community in the industrial area, even if we are all competing for the same customers.
