Ayub Gori Marbles

Ayub Gori Marbles is situated right on Makrana Road in the Madanganj area. We are very close to the marble mandi which means there is a lot of dust in the air most of the time. You can hear the big trucks idling outside nearly all day long. They come in and out of the mandi area loaded with huge blocks of stone. Our yard is usually full of slabs that we have to move around using the cranes. It gets really hot out here during the summer months and the stone stays warm even after the sun goes down. People around here know us because we’ve been at this spot for a while. It’s a busy part of town with a lot of noise from the cutting machines nearby. We spend our mornings checking the stock and talking to the drivers who come through. Sometimes the road gets blocked up with tractors and trailers so getting things moved takes longer than we want. The office is just a small space where we keep the records and have a bit of tea when there is a break. There is always a layer of white marble dust on the furniture no matter how much we wipe it down. We just keep going through the day, handling the stone and making sure the orders are ready for whoever comes to pick them up next. The work is hard and the air is thick but it's what we know.
