Ashtalaxmi Marble

Our place is at Plot No.45 on Harmara Road, right in the heart of the Marble Industrial Area. If you are looking for us, we are quite near Chandak Stonex. The yard is usually filled with different blocks and slabs we’ve brought in over the months. Ashtalaxmi Marble is basically just a few of us making sure the inventory stays organized, which is harder than it looks when you are dealing with heavy stone. The wind blows a lot of white dust across Harmara Road, so everything has a bit of a coating on it by the end of the week. We spend a lot of our mornings just walking around the plot, checking what is left and what needs to be moved. It’s a loud area with all the cutting saws running nearby, but you get used to the hum after a few days. We don't have a lot of fancy furniture or a big lobby. People just pull up in their vehicles and we walk out to meet them among the rows of marble. Sometimes the rain makes the stones look completely different, so we tell people to look at them when they are wet to see the real patterns. We deal with the local transporters mostly. It is a lot of physical labor and keeping track of the paperwork in our small cabin. We just try to keep things honest and get the trucks loaded without too much trouble.
