If you know Cuttack Road in Bhubaneshwar, you probably know the area around Bomikhal. We are located right along that stretch, not too far from the Indian Overseas Bank. It’s a busy part of town with a lot of cars and bikes zooming past all day long. Being near the Kartower means there is always some kind of activity happening nearby. The shop itself is pretty straightforward. We don’t have any of those fancy modern interiors you see in the big malls. It’s just a practical space where we can cook and people can sit down for a bit. The noise from the road is something we’ve just gotten used to over time. On rainy days, the water tends to pool up a bit near the entrance, so we have to stay on top of that. We start our mornings by checking the supplies and getting the rice going. It’s a lot of manual work and we stay on our feet most of the day. Sometimes we talk to the people coming from the bank next door. People in Bomikhal are usually in a hurry, so we try to keep things moving. We aren't trying to be anything special, just a local spot on a busy road. The sign out front has seen better days, but it does the job. We just keep our heads down and work.
