Koel Family Dhaba

Koel Family Dhaba is on the first floor of building 4711 in Gajapati Nagar. We are right in the neighborhood of the Sainik school in Bhubaneshwar. Being on the first floor means you have to head up the stairs to find us, but we have a sign out front so people don't miss it. The pin code here is 751013. We have been running this dhaba for a while, and it’s a very simple operation. We don't have a big corporate structure or a bunch of managers. It is mostly just the family and a few helpers in the kitchen. The decor is very plain, with just basic fans and simple lighting. We don't see the need for anything more than that. The kitchen is where most of the work happens. You can hear the chopping and the stove going all day long. We get a lot of students and parents because the school is so close by. Also, people who live in Gajapati Nagar come by quite often. It’s not a quiet place, especially when the lunch rush starts. We don't use any fancy words to describe what we do. We just cook the food and put it on the table. The chairs are plastic and the tables are easy to wipe down. We stay open pretty late to make sure everyone gets fed. It is just a local spot for a regular meal and some talk.
