I set up shop here at 23 Ganj Bazar quite a long time ago. My name is Ved Prakash Agrahari and this is basically my second home. If you've ever been to Ganj Bazar, you know how crowded and tight the streets can get, especially on market days. Our place is tucked right in there among the other shops and vendors. It’s a small space, mostly filled with boxes and the smell of old paper. I don’t have a big team or anything, just a couple of guys who help me out when things get particularly heavy. We deal with whatever the market demands that week. It’s a lot of manual work, counting things out and packing them up for the local buyers. My desk is usually buried under a pile of receipts and notes. I don't use a computer much, I prefer writing things down in my big red book. It’s more reliable that way. The roof leaks a tiny bit when it rains hard, so we have to move the stock around, but we’re used to it. People stop by just to chat sometimes, which can slow things down, but that’s part of being in the bazaar. We aren't trying to be the biggest business around, just trying to do honest work and keep the regulars happy. It's a loud, messy, and busy life here in the market, but it suits us just fine.
